Maze feat. Frankie Beverly
'Silky Soul'
Warner Bros. - 1989
"Starting off like Marvin Gaye's classic 'What's Going On', Frankie Beverly and the boys snuck out this album after their halycon days with Capital Records.

Somehow their cult following was begining to diminish by then, but as this recording shows, Maze had lost none of their appeal.

Maybe it was more a case of other styles pushing this groove aside, my money would always back this band over most competition any day. The song title encapulates everything about the Maze sound, so expect a Frankie Beverly revival to start anytime soon."
